"I am interested in how people show and express emotion, specifically, in how emotion is expressed through the face and posture. In this series I’ve explored how characters, figures, can interact with their surroundings in order to further push how deep you delve into a character purely by observing them. To this end, I have begun push how the layout and setting can be treated as their own characters, which can further inform the narrative I am developing as well as creating a sense of immersive. For any story, especially one with visual elements, it is imperative that all of the information included is furthering the narrative whether that be through mood, visual language or rending of objects relevant to the plot, the inclusion or exclusion of these elements must be purposeful otherwise it will detract from the story you are trying to tell. In the same way a narrative lays out clues, pieces of information that build upon one another and lead the reader through twists and turns of the story. I strive for each image to hold up by itself, both as its own narrative that can be explored, as well as the clues that add up to inform a larger narrative."
